Altun was born to the Dazkar tribe of the Azim Steppe. She proved herself to be exceptionally skilled at archery and hunting even for a member of the Dazkar Tribe, famed for their archery skill. Do to her talent she found herself slightly outcast, as she rapidly outpaced her agemates in skill and even closed the gap between her and the adult huntresses. In a final bid at recognition within the tribe Altun attempted the Bardem's Mettle pilgrimage at the age of 13 and succeeded.
